Is Nicole Richie Pregnant?

While Christina Aguilera has officially admitted to being pregnant with her first child, rumors about Nicole Richie's pregnancy has not been confirmed...or has it?

While the media is left in the dark, sources such as nicolerichie.nu contain posts stating that the princess is, indeed, pregnant (12 weeks!) and has revealed the news to her mother, Brenda and close friend, Mischa Barton. A July 9th, 2007 post states that she has revealed her pregnancy and quotes Richie saying "I got pregnant because I want to turn my life around."

Apparently, Richie's father has informed the media that he, too, is uncertain about his daughter's pregnancy. Sources neither confirm or deny the rumor and only confuse the possible grandfather-to-be! After his performance this past Saturday at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, LA, Lionel Richie spoke about of his uncertainity about his daughter's pregnancy and whether he would be prepared to be a grandfather.

According to E! News, Lionel Richie stated, "Grandpa, man, that's wild. I don't know if I'm going to be a grandpa, I don't know I'm ready to be called grandpa."

Speculation of Richie's pregnancy have also come form various friends of Nicole and her boyfriend, Joel Madden (Good Charlotte). Last month, Richie and Madden were apparently spotted shopping for baby gifts.

Rumors continue to run rampant as the young star of The Simple Life faces trial on a misdemeanor charge of driving while under the influence stemming from a December arrest. This could potentially have her following in the footsteps of her long-time friend and co-star, Paris Hilton, landing her behind bars for up to a year.
